Dr Leah A. van Breugel is a fully qualified clinical psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Leah holds a first-class honours degree from Macquarie University, as well as a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD from the University of New South Wales. Her PhD research focused on the mechanisms mediating and moderating time distortions during traumatic experiences. During 2007 Leah also held a Post-Doctoral Research position in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford.
Since 2004, Leah has had substantial experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders, which she gained at the Macquarie University Anxiety Research Unit. She has experience delivering both group and individual treatments as well in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adult anxiety disorders.
Originally from the Shoalhaven area, Leah has worked in various treatment centres and universities within Australia and internationally. She has owned and operated private practices in Miranda and Bomaderry and currently chooses to practice privately in the beautiful Shoalhaven Heads.
Leah brings a warm and sensitive approach to clients and has a genuine interest in fostering positive change in their lives. She is committed to continuing professional development and training in order to provide her clients with the highest quality of care.
